How do I publicize my business in Second Life (articles, classifieds, blogs, etc.)?
Publicizing a Second Life business in the Real World is much like publicizing other Real World businesses. Public relations, advertising, blogging and articles in Second Life publications all attract attention to your Second Life business.
How do I advertise in Second Life?
At this time, Linden Lab does not have any advertising or cooperative marketing programs. The advertising opportunity in Second Life is to create a compelling experience or event that attracts people to Second Life and attracts residents to your brand or product. Some residents have set up advertising servers in Second Life, and you can work directly with them. You may find them listed in SLClassifieds, OnRez or SLExchange.
We have a business idea that involves working with businesses in Second Life. How do we reach them?
There are many ways to reach businesses in Second Life. Promoting specific products or services can be done through SLClassifieds, OnRez or SLExchange. In addition, there are many publications about Second Life and you can take out advertising or get coverage through them.
My location is empty. What can I do to attract traffic?
There are many ways to publicize your business in Second Life. The best way to think about it is akin to the Real World. Placing messages in highly trafficked areas that have an interactive/engaging component is one strategy. Holding events that are compelling and engaging is another way to attract residents to your location. One other interesting technique is to provide free products that have some sort of link or message that ties back to your location.
Offline, periodicals such as Metaverse Messenger, SLbusiness.com and SecondSyle Magazine provide opportunities to gain exposure.
I create and sell things in Second Life. Should I be listed in the Solution Providers?
Solution Providers is only for individuals or company who hire out their services to create content for Second Life. If you are looking for a place to list products you sell, consider SLClassifieds, OnRez or SLExchange or the many periodicals about Second Life.
I want to put the Second Life logo on my web page and point people to Second Life. What permission do I need and how do I get the logo?
The logo is available in the Press section at LindenLab.com. Any use of Linden Lab marks, including the Second Life logo, is subject to our Policy.
We are developing on the Second Life Grid. Can we put the Second Life logo on our website and use it in our company collateral?

Can I use the letters/words 'Second Life' in my product or company name?
We are developing a branding/logo program that will provide you with guidance on this. "Second Life" is a registered trademark of Linden Lab. You may not use the words Second Life in a product or company name; that mark is reserved for use by Linden Lab.
