Thirty volunteers created the event, and over 1,000 people participated by walking through representations of real-life places including Mexico, New York City, Paris, Sweden, and South Africa. Along the way, the participants donated money to attend events and engage in activities such as sky diving off the Eiffel Tower. More

The Alzheimer Society of Ontario held a “Remember Us” Exhibit in January 2007 to support Alzheimer’s Awareness Month and engender community and conversation about the disorder. The exhibit featured large photographs of people living with the disease, a podcast where residents listened to interviews of people touched by the disease, and a video documentary. In addition, “Head Space” enabled visitors to walk through a brain scan, and “The Memory Board” allowed visitors to play a game to sharpen recall. The show raised more than $15,000 Linden dollars, which will be used to build a permanent educational space for the Alzheimer Society on the Second Life Grid. More
