Disaster Response

The University of California at Davis simulated an emergency-aid worker training. The university wanted to minimize the amount of time necessary for medicines offloaded from airplanes to reach geographically disparate victims. The Second Life Grid provided a much shorter development time for UCD than if they’d created the project in the real world. Their in-world training reduced costs significantly.
