Virtual World Licensing Programs for Enterprises
Enterprises can license virtual world viewer source code and Linden Lab trademarks for use on the Second Life Grid as described below.
- Code Licensing
- Second Life Viewer Licensing
- The Second Life Viewer is available under the GNU General Public License, version 2.0, with a FLOSS exception. The artwork is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 License.
- If the terms of the GPL do not suit a project, a Commercial License may be applied for.
- Second Life Server Licensing
- Linden Lab does not license server-side components. If you wish to be informed if Linden Lab launches a Second Life Server Licensing Program, please submit your contact information.
- Brand Licensing
- Our trademarks include our word marks and brand names like Second Life®, Second Life Grid™, SL™, SLurl™, Linden™, LindeX™, and Linden Lab®. They also include our distinctive logos like the Second Life Eye-in-Hand logo, the Second Life Grid logo, the inSL Cube logo, and the Linden Lab Hexagon logo.
- If you'd like to use a Linden Lab trademark, Linden Lab needs to grant you permission. Please visit the Brand Center to learn more about our marks and the inSL community logo program.
